Health recommendations

. Apply sunscreen every 2 hours.
. Use repellents to avoid mosquito bites in warm areas (Coast, Amazon, and Galápagos Islands) and in Quito in the Valleys.
. Due to the diverse climates that may occur on the same day, it is recommended to carry a light jacket and an umbrella for rain.
. In case of needing medical attention, go to the nearest Health Center according to your location. Find the best health establishment at:

Epidemiological Situation:

The country has not reported new cases of yellow fever since March 2017. However, epidemiological surveillance is maintained for the detection of possible cases.

Prevention:

. The vaccine should be administered from 12 months to 59 years of age, with a single dose providing lifelong protection.
. Avoid mosquito bites by using repellents, light-colored clothing, long sleeves, and long pants.
. Vaccine protection begins 10 days after administration, so it should be applied within that timeframe before traveling to risk areas or countries
requiring this vaccine.
